About Balraj
I went to a private institute for kinesiology and had my own practice as an elite trainer, manual therapist and corrective exercise specialist for 8 years before I learned this form of yoga. It was taught to me by the founder himself Dr. Jasprit Singh phd and his wife Dr. Teresa Singh who had a studio in Santa Barbara, California where I lived as a self employed holistic health practitioner. I became consumed with this artful style of yoga and quickly replaced many elements of my training with practices from this style. My teacher learned much of it from his father who had lived in and traveled Punjab. I now have a center in Punjab, India with space to teach 60 students at a time where I also teach other ancients forms of Indian exercise in my Akhara as well as teaching Bhangra as dance therapy.

I have a wellness lodge where students can stay for intensive learning which will be needed if you want to teach. Learning can be done over webcam. I use ropes and fabrics in my teaching. Whether you’re a beginner or advanced I guarantee that you will get stronger and more aligned. This form of yoga makes you very strong on the inside and does wonders for strengthening your core, tendons and bones. Your balance and stability will improve. It’s also incredibly safe and highly recommended for seniors but can still be challenging for someone who’s fit and in their prime. Anywhere there is a place to anchor a rope I.e a tree, rafter or pole the complete form of this yoga can be done. The ropes, which I have many in stock, are made of jute and are 1.5 inch thick and 18 ft long. The rope hangs from the anchor so that you can hold a rope with each hand and support yourself as u challenge you. If hanging a rope is not possible there is still much that can be learned with a simple 1 meter cloth and bodyweight. I look forward to teaching you.
