About Jolanda

I am a passionate yoga teacher, but first of all I am a forever yoga student. I started practicing yoga in 2011 in London, with recorded online lesson, but I quickly realised that having a teacher / guru is essential for personal and spiritual growth. So I decided to enroll in the Yoga In Daily Life school, the master science system of Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda. After years of practice, in 2018, I decided to move to India to study directly in the land of yoga. I studied at The Yoga Institute where I obtained the certification of yoga and meditation teacher with a 3 month course (+800). Over the years I have attended other courses in India - 200h Ashtanga Vinyasa Iyengar method -, studied and lived, yogic and ayurvedic philosophy in different ashrams, such as Sivananda, Iyengar Institute and Osho, and the institute of yoga and scientific research Kavalyadhama. My base is in Amsterdam, where I teach privately and in the studio, but I am also a traveler and every year I spend several months in India, my second home now, where I find the purity and true essence of yoga that I would like to transmit and share with those who will decide to undertake this wonderful journey with me.

About the lesson

My method is based on the ancient practices of traditional yoga, where meditation and breathing techniques are a fundamental and inseparable part, together with asanas and final relaxation. But at the same time it embraces the scientific part and modern research on the benefits of yoga on a physical and psychological level. Furthermore, my classes always include Ayurveda notions and advice, for a healthy lifestyle in harmony with the 5 elements. Finally, during my classes we often smile, because the practice of yoga is lived as a joyful and not too serious moment, as the ancient gurus teach. Lessons begin with guided relaxation and grounding to get into practice. We continue with the various positions (asanas). Yoga is an individual practice and therefore I will structure the class according to individual needs. At the end of the lesson guided relaxation, relaxation techniques and short meditation.
