About Brad
I am an English/ESL/IELTS teacher with over 35 years of teaching and teacher training experience, with pupils from two years old to adults, mostly in Thailand and China. l have a M. Ed and over 2000 hours of IELTS teaching experience. My teaching method is based on the needs of individual students and my classes are designed to assist students to develop their own language skills. While text books provide a range of topics, they are only part of the lesson, and other material will be used to illustrate language points.

I am not a rigid teacher. Each student and lesson is different and lessons need to reflect this individuality. l believe in allowing students room and time to explore their answers, and assist them by asking refocusing questions. A good lesson is one where students can answer many questions, but the best lessons are where the students can ask many questions.

I had the great privilege of being taught by Brad many years ago and I still remember the lessons to this day.
He has the ability to explain very simply and efficiently complex grammar. I specially appreciated his patience throughout the course and his commitment to my success.
Ultimately, Brad was more than a teacher, he was a coach. I learned a great deal with him in a short period. But what I remember most is all the conversations we had about travel and life.Brad was my trainer when I did my TESOL certificate in Shanghai in 2009. He was an excellent trainer. With his wealth of experience he was able to give us very useful, and practical advice when we were preparing our lessons for practical teaching. His feedback was very uplifting and helpful. I would gladly recommend Brad as a very knowledgeable and experienced ESL professional.
I worked as an material editor with Brad at ABC360 in Hangzhou, China, for almost 2 years in the Curriculum Development department. Brad's thorough knowledge of teaching and teaching principles was obvious at all times, and he tried very hard to implement best practices and methodology wherever possible, often against stiff opposite from people who lacked the skills, training and humility to recognize Brad's massive storehouse of knowledge and experience. His teaching style suits almost any age group, with its engaging, expressive style, enthusiasm, energy and quick-witted sense of humour. Given the incredible challenges of working in the Chinese education sector, if Brad can teach well and excel there, which he did, he can teach anywhere! I have no hesitation recommending Brad for any ESL teaching or curriculum development position, and am confident that his decades of experience and hard-won qualifications make him a very effective teacher and communicator. Although Brad 'specializes' in ESL teaching, he is as capable teaching English to native speakers as he is to non-native speakers, at all levels. Brad's teaching nous is based both on many thousands of hours of hands-on teaching, as well as institutional 'classroom' knowledge and training to a high level. A commitment to tangible results and 'doing it right' are hallmarks of Brad's teaching style, and he is never one to waver from seeing a job, project or undertaking through to its completion or resolution, nor does he shrink from a meeting challenges with determination and perseverance.
Brad was my teacher trainer in 2007 and I cannot recommend him highly enough. The training he provided to me was invaluable and I will be forever grateful for the impact he had on my professional career at that early stage. Knowledge, skills, the ability to build a rapport, good communication, and a sense of humour; Brad has it all in spades. Any institution would be lucky to have him as part of its faculty.
