About Vasistha

I teach because it is something that gives me not only pleasure but a deep satisfaction.

I have many years of experience with my teacher Swami Janakananda who is renowned for teaching as it used to be back when yoga was not world wide and commercial.

He was very disciplined and inspired us to master the craft of teaching through experience over intellectual understanding.

The techniques I teach, will bring you all the way from getting in touch with your body and your mind to being stable and aware in stressful moments. This is not a promise to be challenged because it takes a different amount of time for each person and patience and stability will be trained through these classes as well. No matter how long you have been practicing, it is a life long journey.

I started meditating when I was 11 years old when I met a Buddhist monk who my parents introduced me to. From then on I knew that I wanted to teach meditation. It is a tool that we can all use to bring energy, creativity and peace into our everyday lives.

About the lesson

I teach classes that are a sequence of yoga poses, breathing exercises, deep relaxation and meditation. The classes range from weekly classes, from 1hr and 30 minutes to 2hrs and 15 minutes; to weekend courses that can be 3 hours long on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

I trained with Scandinavian Yoga and Meditation School with my teacher Swami Janakananda.
I have a certificate from my teacher showing that I have 8 years full time experience in different fields of yoga and meditation under ashram settings.

I teach beginner classes that teach the fundamentals of the methods and bring you into a relaxed state. I also teach experienced classes that expand on the techniques and go very deep, experiencing the deeper layers of our being.

The poses, breathing exercises, deep relaxation and meditation techniques are learned in steps and start from a simple foundation and go to practices that work with our more subtle tensions. The practices are very good for releasing tension and also for gaining awarenes of our body, mind and energy.
