About Gilli

I began practicing yoga as a young person in 1990. I started teaching practices on the advice of one of my yoga teachers. Who asked if I'd cover a class, believing I was already a teacher. A different times, and seasons different practices support me (e.g. menstrual cycle, illness, winter to summer). Once I began practicing vinyasa (present awareness) with Zen meditation I knew this was something I wanted to share with others.
I have worked as a health professional and often felt there were limits to care, and became frustrated by the strive culture that appeared to create more illnesses. I noticed more and more people leaning on social tranquilizers (emotional eating/drinking/medicating/media ingestion) to manage. And more and more illnesses associated to stress being accepted and limited prevention and/or self care being promoted.
We all have changes and challenges,which can be managed when we have protective factors and resilience. Sometimes we need to pull back to see the affluenza (illnesses evoked from need to have more money/things).
Long covid, Chronic Fatigue, ME, fybromyalgia, anxiety, obsesity related concerns have increased in recent years. I have researched and studied and practiced techniques to ease this, and build wellbeing. We have just one wild, precious life. Lets life our best life today.

Yoga has many benefits. for health, physically, emotionally and socially. When we engage in mindful movements, meditative movements we engage with ourselves more lovingly and nourish our wellbeing.
Yoga, can support strengthening the body from illness, increase connections with relationships and yourself. By how you practice.
Engaging with mindful techniques we can eat in a way that benefits us, reducing emotional or stress eating, and learn more about what nourishes our body (health or not healthy food is not the focus).
Talking therapies can aid emotional wellbeing, EMDR can support healing trauma, eating distress etc.
We are all really special and unique and deserve to live our best lives together in harmony in our worlds.
