About Taylor
Hi! I'm Taylor! My education journey started at Idaho State University, where I was selected for the Career Path internship program. In March of 2024 I will have been in education for 12 years. I moved to Logan, Ut in 2014 to continue my education at Utah State University. I took a few years off to figure out what I wanted to be when I grow up, and I found an after school and summer program through Logan City Parks and Rec. I did ASC/ Summer Playground for 5 years, while attending Bridgerland Technology College, where I graduated with dual certifications in Media Design and Computer Graphics and a 3. 6 GPA. After graduation, I was hired at AmeriCorps (now Teach for America). My job was to look at test scores, and find the students that needed the most help. I ran a before and after school tutoring program. I was also an aide during the day. My duties included tutoring during the day, helping teachers, and running a Spanish to English ELL group under the direct supervision of the schools English Language teacher. My tutoring program was very successful, and by the end of my time there, more than half of my students had graduated out of my program. I currently work at North Star Charter school as a Special Education
Paraprofessional. I work one-on-one or in small groups to improve hand writing, reading, comprehension, and phonics skills.

Hi I’m Taylor!
A typical lesson with me looks like the following:

2. Phonics lesson
3. 5-10 minute brain break, as long as the student has worked hard.
I like to personalize my lessons to fit my student. If my student would to videos, pictures, and visuals I’ll do my best to teach to them the way they will learn.
I am easy going, but also understand that your students education is important. I am a firm believer in positive reinforcement, so my students have small reward charts, and once filled they may pick a prize, or a small candy.
