About Isabel
Hello! My name is Isabel and I love writing and helping others begin to love writing! I have experience working in a college writing lab for over a year and have been doing freelance editing/proofreading ever since I graduated from college. I love finding the little issues with papers and helping students see ways they can improve their papers, whether that be strengthening their overall argument, making sure their paper continually connects itself to the central argument, or fixing formatting errors! My goal is to help students learn how to correct errors and write effectively. My hope is that as students meet with me, the things they learn will help them gain the necessary confidence to write on their own in the future. I hope to hear from you soon!

I worked at the BYU FHSS Writing Lab for over a year, so my lessons will be structured similar to a writing appointment in a writing lab. The student will come to the lesson with the essay prompt, any instructions for their paper as given by their teacher/professor, and any questions they may have. We will focus first on making sure the student understands the expectations for the paper, then that the paper has a strong thesis to guide the argument throughout, then we will focus on other global elements, followed by local elements, and we will finish up with any formatting errors or questions.
My lessons are for anyone writing a paper from middle school up through their undergraduate studies! I specialize in those papers pertaining to the Family, Home, and Social Sciences (psychology, family studies, history, economics, anthropology, sociology, and political science), but I can help with any subject:)
