About Kristina

My name is Kristina and I come from a small town called Exeter in the UK. After finishing my studies at the University of Exeter, I decided to take a leap of faith and move to the northern reaches of Europe, where I found a job in tourism in Tromsø, Norway. After several years in the tourist industry, I decided to re-train as an EFL teacher to pursue my love of languages and to use my skills in international communication to help others gain the same intercultural experiences that I had enjoyed since moving abroad.

I love languages, I love travel, and I believe that as a language teacher I have a significant and meaningful responsibility to help people from around the world communicate better with each other.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored specifically to the English which YOU need, whether that is meetings, negotiations, presentations, emails, exam preparation, small talk, or anything else...! The focus will be on real situations and I use the communicative approach to build confidence, broaden vocabulary, and improve grammatical accuracy.

I prepare my own materials using authentic videos and texts, and source exercises specific to your level. There is no standard course, because everything will be decided depending on your knowledge and your needs.

These are some of the activities we might undertake during our lessons:
*Discuss current events
*Prepare and practice a presentation on a topic of your choice
*Learn to present an argument and have a debate
*Read and discuss articles from your field or your area of interest
*Learn to summarize and report
*Learn to use more advanced language for professional situations and general conversation
*Find richer words and expressions to sound more like a native speaker
*Correct pronunciation where needed
