About Sina

As a student myself, I understand exactly how valuable tutoring can be, but only with the right tutor. I have worked privately with all ages of students, ranging from 9th grade to undergraduate. Additionally, I've worked with the highly experienced writing staff at the Long Island University writing center, who have advised and educated me further on the professional practice of tutoring. I also specialize in AP Literature exam course preparation, excelling with a score of 5 on my own exam. Exam prep would focus on all sections on the test, alongside creating study skills/methods for both the multiple choice and essay sections. I will meet you where you're at, always working alongside you, never ahead of you.

Hello! My name is Sina, and I would love to work with any person hoping to improve their English skill set. If you are a high school or undergrad student, my lessons would be a great fit! I have worked with many skilled instructors and experienced tutors within the LIU Brooklyn Writing Center, and have discovered a flexible, consistent approach when working with students. I believe in the importance of making a safe environment for the student to ask questions, using tools such as organizers/breakdowns when writing an essay, exploring and expanding the student's reading comprehension and critical thinking, and in reaching for progress over perfection. I am able to assist students writing in both the MLA and APA style, but specialize in MLA writing. Additionally, I provide lessons focusing on improving reading comprehension, early writing skills, and lessons for students who speak English as a second language, that are aiming to better their writing skills. I can't wait to work with you!
