About Brendan

Teaching English shifted from a small side project to my full-time focus, and it remains a constant highlight of my week. Coaching adults in retraining and teenagers facing intense pressure ensures that my days stay incredibly varied. Getting unstuck is a skill that we practice directly during our time together.

I focus on how to check your own work rather than simply completing tasks. My MA in Linguistics from NYU informs how I teach everyday conversation, business English, and test prep for TOEFL or IELTS.

Students often struggle with speaking confidence and academic writing, so I bridge those gaps using practical strategies. You might find that you actually enjoy the specific parts of language learning you currently dread. My approach aims to give you the tools to manage your own progress independently.

About the lesson

Paper hits the desk as we review your diagnostic level test to pin down your current baseline. This initial assessment allows us to strip away guesswork so we focus only on the gaps.

My classroom is a zone for real life fluency. You will face challenges that make you sweat but keep you sharp.

We target pronunciation and those tricky idioms that textbooks consistently ignore. Expect to work hard on your speaking confidence and reading comprehension. An 8.0 score is a goal we can tackle together.
