About Calum
Hey all! My name is Calum and I teach all things English. My favourite authors are Ernest Hemingway and Cormac McCarthy and I am currently reading Dubliners by James Joyce. Fun fact: Hemingway and Joyce were actually good friends as they both lived and wrote in 1920s Paris. Outside of prose I am well versed (excuse the pun) in poetry, essay-writing, speech-writing and public speaking as I took classes in each of these subjects while at University. When I put the books down I'm usually picking up a paint brush. I love to paint and draw landscapes from my travels abroad. I find it very rewarding and great for mental clarity. I encourage all my students to devote time to personal hobbies and projects for this very reason. I am also a big football fan and support Arsenal F.C. This year might actually be our year! Looking forward to meeting and getting to know you. Ciao for now :) .
