About Brian
You can expect every lesson with me to be friendly, respectful, and focused on your individual goals. I have experience helping peers with English-language difficulties and enjoy making difficult concepts easier to understand.
I have a TOEFL score of 118/120, demonstrating a strong command of English in an academic setting. I can use this experience to help students improve their speaking, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and overall communication, as well as prepare for the TOEFL exam.
I take each student's goals and current level seriously and prepare lessons accordingly. Whether you want to become more confident in everyday conversations, improve your academic English, or prepare for an important exam, I will work with you patiently and provide constructive feedback throughout your learning journey.
Most importantly, I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Learning a language takes practice, and my goal is to create a supportive environment where you can steadily build confidence and see measurable improvement.

My approach is practical, conversational, and tailored to each student's goals and current level. Since my goal is to help students actually use English confidently, I focus on active communication rather than relying only on memorizing grammar rules.
A typical class begins with a short conversation or warm-up to understand how comfortably you can communicate in English. We then focus on the areas that need improvement, such as speaking, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, or comprehension. I use real-life situations, examples, questions, and guided conversation to help you practice. For TOEFL students, lessons can also include speaking and writing practice, question strategies, and feedback based on the exam format.
One of my main strengths is that I understand what it is like to learn and use English as a second language. I have achieved a TOEFL score of 118/120, and I aim to make lessons comfortable and encouraging so that students can make mistakes, ask questions, and improve without feeling pressured.
My classes are suitable for teenagers, college students, and adults who want to improve their English for everyday communication, academics, university applications, interviews, or TOEFL preparation. Lessons can be adapted to beginners as well as more advanced learners who want to become more fluent and natural speakers.
