About Prerna
I am a student-centric learning coach and writing consultant with 8+ years of experience helping high school, college, and university students achieve success in academia.
The most important thing I bring to the table is my ability to simplify and synthesize complex information into customized, easily understandable lessons. I believe in offering innovative, practicable solutions that improve my students' clarity and confidence.
Why choose Prerna as your academic tutor?
- My teaching philosophy is focused on understanding, clarity, and skill-building. I encourage my students to chase their strongest, most confident effort instead of only pursuing results.
- MFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College. I know how to read my audience, tailor my message, and keep you engaged and enriched.
- Thorough understanding of academic writing conventions, research methods, citation & style guides, essay formats & more.
- Experience helping students craft authentic and successful essays including but not limited to college application essays, scholarship/grant applications, and cover letters.
- Experience providing learning and executive functioning coaching to neurodivergent, ESL, immigrant, and mature students.
- I also have a significant breadth of expertise in history, political science, philosophy, literature, culture, psychology, and arts.
Lastly, I love learning and sharing my enthusiasm for knowledge with others. From my students, I expect honesty, curiosity, and the willingness to learn. In return, I am their most ardent cheerleader.

I help you get organized by reviewing requirements, breaking down complex instructions, unpacking complex information, and providing coaching specific to the challenges you are facing.
We will use constructive methods to help you play to your strengths. Where we identify opportunities for improvement, I will offer suggestions and model successful application. We will collaboratively arrive at strategies that work best for you.
All lessons are highly practical, solution-oriented, thorough, and designed to build your confidence in your academic career.
