About Joe

Our mission is to develop athletes and build social character within local communities. The Dallas Diesel provides an opportunity for our members to reach personal goals through Christian ministry and athletic competition.

Coaching/Learning Philosophy

Dallas Diesel Basketball employs many coaching and counseling techniques that are designed to effectively accomplish our training goals. In general, these techniques fall into the main methods:

Instruction- Learning to play basketball, or any sport, requires the guidance of an experienced coach who can communicate with the players to help them develop their skills.

Repetition- While practice never leads to perfection, it does lead to improvement.

Example- Watching our advanced players and learning from examples of our coaches helps players understand what the end result of their hard work should look like.

Teaching others- When players master a move or technique, they will be allowed to teach others players. By teaching others, the student teacher enhances their own learning experience.

I enjoy working with children and young adults in order to help them reach there goals as a person, athlete, and student. I want everyone to be to achieve their goals that they have set, but my ultimate goal is to see them graduate college if they chose to go.

I started when both of my daughters started playing basketball.  Basketball is something they love to do, and because I was always gone when I was in the army. This is my way to be able to spend time with them.

I have an associate's degree in Kinesiology, and I am working on my bachelor's degree in Recreation, Events, and Sports Management.  I am a certified and license coach for USA Basketball.  I have been coaching AAU basketball for the last 4 years.  I have been training basketball players for the last 4 years since retiring from the military.
