About Daniel
Once I entered the universtiy level of education, I knew that I wanted to work with students and be an educator. The enjoyment I got from working with students and providing lessons was great, and being able to do that as a career only reinforced that drive to pursue teaching.
I've worked as a graduate teachnig assistant at Coastal Carolina University for two years, specifically in the English field and working at the 100 level of courses.
I've also worked as a substitute teacher in the past and as an instructor in other fields, providing me with plenty of experience in how to organize and communicate with those willing to learn.

First and foremost, getting to know my students and their abilities is what matters. Being on equal footing allows me to tailor the experience to their personal needs and wants so that I can give the best help I can.
I have predominantly worked with college students, but I do have some experience with everything from K-12. What matter, however, isn't the age of the student, but their willingness to learn and develop.
Focusing in creative writing, it's important to find someone who is open-minded and wanting to improve your abilities instead of pushing one way or the other.
There's no right way to tell a story and it's important that whomever is helping you find that sweet spot in your writing recognizes what you're trying to do and isn't getting in the way or changing it to something it's not.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
It's important for students to have an idea of where and what they want to improve on. Not necessarily both, but one of the two so that the instructor can have a solid idea of where they can look and help.
The biggest hurdle for a student in a one-on-one scenario is the ability to communicate what they want out of the experience. The better they know this, the more readily able the instructor/teacher will be to help them improve.
