Hello! I see that you would like to improve your skills in your academic subjects at school. It can be difficult completing assignments that you are struggling to understand. I am here to help! I am very patient and understanding.

My Profile

I have Orton Gillingham Certification in morphology, reading decoding, and dyslexia.

I have 25+ years experience with Autism, ADHD, EBD, MID, and Learning Disabilities.

I have tutored and taught ages 1-14 through Babies Can't Wait and Public School Systems.

I am certified to teach Math and English Language Arts and Reading, K-8th grade.

I totally enjoy helping students learn. I have completed my 25th year of teaching and truly enjoy making a difference in students' lives.

I started teaching in Georgia twenty-five years ago. I have taught in five school systems in Georgia. Teaching has been my passion for all of these years!



Writing, speaking, teaching, and tutoring are my passions! Teaching students from ages five to fourteen has been my passion for over twenty-five years. I am a certified general and special education teacher in Georgia. I have worked in school systems such as Gwinnett, Fulton, and Cobb County. I have earned a Doctorate Degree in Education, as well as three additional college degrees. I am certified to teach Math and English Language Arts and Reading, K-8th grade. My areas of expertise in Math are fractions, geometry, operations and algebra. I tutor math from grades k-5. My areas of expertise in English Language Arts and Reading are reading comprehension of challenging fiction and nonfiction books. I also focus on understanding inferences and claims, citing textual evidence, and meanings of words. Written expression skills are also an area of focus, which includes argumentative, explanatory, informative texts and papers, narratives, and research projects. I tutor English Language Arts and Reading from grades k-8.

I have earned Orton-Gillingham Certification in English Language Arts and Reading, with a primary focus on higher level spelling rules, syllabication patterns for encoding and decoding, morphology- affixes, Latin and Greek bases, phonics, and vocabulary.  I desire to help my students as much as possible, therefore I encourage parents and students to suggest resources of their particular interests. I start with conversation to break the ice and to let them know that I am here to help them improve their academic skills.

I typically start instruction with a pre-assessment to determine their academic level and learning style. 



I have worked with student having disabilities, as well as, students without disabilties. I have also taught gifted students, as well as, students with Autism.



I would advise them to have their parents speak to the teacher so that he or she will have a through understanding of the student.



I am impressed that during Covid 19, various schools found a way to honor graduating seniors remotely. Even though we all experiencing something we have never seen before, we found a way to honor high school seniors.
