About Jean

A UCLA alum with a doctorate in clinical psychology, Dr. Thomas has been working with students as a private tutor for the past 10 years. Whether it be by counseling graduate students as a teaching assistant or guiding high schoolers through the college application process, Dr. Thomas is committed to helping each and every client reach their academic goals.

I love seeing students have that light bulb moment, when a difficult concept finally clicks for them for the first time. It's an absolute joy.

I started teaching in college as part of any after school program serving low income youth. I first volunteered as a homework tutor and then was promoted to director of elementary education (where I oversaw curriculum for 60-70 elementary and middle school students).

About the lesson

I believe in building on client's strengths in order to tackle challenges. I also like to make the process as enjoyable as possible while working toward meaningful goals.
