About Novaughn
I believe that learning should be fun and at its best, helps us to understand, develop, and grow confidence in our best selves. I had the privilege to work with students in a variety of settings: as an assistant teacher, a substitute teacher, and as a youth mentor. What those experiences taught me is that there is no “ right “ way to learn.
Once we identify what your learning needs are, we will focus on studying in a way that compliments your unique learning style.
I am looking forward to giving the one-on-one attention you need to continue to be successful in your studies.
I know this is a tough time for so many families and their students due to covid-19 and the state of our world. The Covid virus has really disrupted our everyday life ; and school has been no exception. I am looking forward to giving the one-on-one attention you need to continue to be successful in your studies.
I truly believe that the ultimate goal of education is not just academic excellence, but the nurturing of thoughtful, inquisitive, impact-minded citizen leaders.
So whether it’s reviewing homework , preparing for a test, or more long term tutoring, I am excited to help!
Let’s Learn Together.
Cheers!
I started teaching as an Assistant Kindergarten Teacher. I absolutely fell in love! I realized that I could help students learn in a way that was fun and meaningul to them. There was nothing more gratifying than helping my students learn new ideas and concepts and grow more confident in themeslves.

My tutoring expertise includes ELA for K-12 students. Depending on your needs, we can break these learning skills into two categories: concepts for building strong readers and concepts for building strong writers.
In concepts for building strong readers, learners will master different phonetic sounds and reading comprehension. A strong reader is a confident writer.
In concepts for building strong writers , learners will deepen their understanding of literary concepts and put them into practice through writing excerpts.
Since my first days as an Assistant Teacher, I have gone on to teach, tutor, and mentor K-12 students.

Ms. Novaughn worked so well with my kids! They absolutely loved her enthusiasm and as a parent, I was impressed with her skill set and professionalism especially when working with youngsters. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is seeking a tutor in Reading enrichment. She makes the work very animated as she has a theatre background as well.
