About Winter

I love the English language and helping others become proficient in it.

I started as a preschool teacher through my work at a YMCA.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Child Development, have worked with all ages, and I've also worked with special needs children.

About the lesson

I like to find out where students are academically, what is causing them to struggle, & then create a plan that works in and out of tutoring sessions

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should think about specific assignments they struggle in such as reading or reading comprehension.

Winter has been very helpful in my son's reading skills. He's kind of young, but she has been tutoring him in letter recognition, letter sounds, and sight words. She calls this early reading. He's able to remember the letters & sounds she taught him because she gave us (his parents) the skills to use when she isn't working with him so that we're all on the same page.

My daughter is 5 and just beginning to read. Ms. Winter was my child's preschool teacher, but was temporarily out of work due to Covid-19. She has been tutoring my daughter in early reading and my daughter has been sounding out short words on her own when we read before bed. I am very happy with Ms. Winter as a tutor and (previously) as a teacher for my daughter!
