About Danielle
I am an elementary teacher certified to teach grades 1-6. I have a Bilingual Extension for teaching English as a Second Language. I am currently back in school to recieve my special education certificate.
This past school year I have been a virtual teacher for students who have stayed home due to the Covid-19 pandemic. I have created a fun and inviting virtual classroom for my students. Throughout the school year they have learned so many new things about technology.
Even though virtual teaching is much different from in person, I have learned to develop skills in ensuring students are engaged and on task during class time. I make sure to keep learning fun and exciting.
When I was in college, I worked as a summer camp counselor for 4 years and enjoyed working with children and teaching them new things. After that, I continued to work with children by babysitting campers and tutoring students of all ages. Later on, I worked Special Education extended school year programs as an ABA aide and have worked with many types of students. I now teach K-2 students virtually.
I have graduted with my Masters in Childhood Education with a Bilingual Extension. I am currently in school to receive my Advanced Certificate in Special Education. Right now, I am a K-2 Virtual Teacher in a public elementary school.

When working with a new student it is important to get to know them as a learner. I like to see what type of learning they are- visual, hands-on, movement, etc. In addition to learning about the students habits, I also look to see what are their strengths and weaknesses in order to figure out what they know and what they are learning to do. Making sure they are comfortable is also a big factor because I want my students to feel like they can trust me and the process of learning.
I have worked with many types of students that range from general education, special education and ENL.
