About Shelby

I love to see children become more confident in themselves and enjoy learning. When they see how much they have grown, that makes me so happy.

I have students and parents tell me how much their child enjoys learning from me and how much they have learned and grow. Making a difference in a child's life bring me so much joy and inspiration to continue what I love to do, teach.

I have working with children in schools and summer camps for 6 years. I have been a teacher in the school year classroom for 2 years.

I have my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Texas A&M University (2018), I have a diploma in Association International Montessori (AMI) in Primary ages 3 to 6 years old (2019) and I have a Masters of Education with a Specialization in Montessori and Special Education from Southern Methodist University (SMU) (2020).

About the lesson

I like to have a conversation with the family on the student's goal. I do a quick review and test to see where the child is at and what they need improvement on.

I have worked with students on the spectrum ages ranging from 2 years old to 10 years old.

The student has to have a good connection with the teacher. If the teacher and student have a good connection and respect for each other, the academics will come easier. You need trust in each other to see results.
