About Rigan
Hi! My name is Rigan, and I’m an international student with a strong passion for languages, communication, and helping others grow their confidence in English. Since English is not my first language, I understand how difficult and intimidating learning it can sometimes feel. Through years of practice, studying abroad, and living in different countries, I became fully fluent to the point where many people assume I am a native speaker. That journey is what inspired me to start teaching.
I focus on creating a supportive and comfortable environment where students feel encouraged to speak, make mistakes, and improve naturally. My teaching style is patient, conversational, and personalized to each student’s goals and level. I especially enjoy helping students improve their speaking confidence, pronunciation, and everyday communication skills.
I have experience working with students from different backgrounds through tutoring, mentoring, and leadership roles, including working in an English Lab where I support students with language practice and communication. I am friendly, adaptable, and genuinely passionate about helping people feel more confident expressing themselves in English.

My approach as a tutor is very personal and conversation-based because I know firsthand how difficult and frustrating learning English can feel. English is not my first language, and when I was younger, I struggled a lot with speaking and understanding it naturally. Over time, through practice, immersion, and confidence-building, I reached a level where most people assume I am a native speaker. That experience helps me understand students better and teach in a way that feels realistic, supportive, and encouraging instead of overly academic or intimidating.
My lessons are focused on helping students feel comfortable using English in real life. I usually begin by understanding the student’s level, goals, and what they struggle with most. A typical lesson includes conversation practice, pronunciation help, vocabulary building, listening exercises, and natural speaking corrections. I also like to include topics the student actually enjoys so lessons feel engaging and less stressful.
What sets me apart is that I teach from personal experience, not just textbooks. I understand the fear of making mistakes, sounding different, or lacking confidence when speaking. Because of that, I focus heavily on creating a relaxed environment where students feel safe practicing and improving.
My lessons are best for beginners, intermediate learners, students wanting conversational fluency, or anyone looking to sound more natural and confident in English.
