About Baljeet

I am an experienced English tutor and qualified teacher, GCSE examiner, and former Lead Practitioner, with 15+ years of teaching English Language & Literature across KS3, KS4, and KS5. I have a 2.1 English degree from a Russell Group University; PGCE and a nationally recognised qualification in Leading Teaching.

As a parent myself, I know the challenges of finding a suitable school, choosing a tutor and how to decide (!), reading books and educational resources. Please be assured, many, many students find English confusing. I can help!

-I offer online tuition during the day on weekdays, after school, evenings, weekends, to provide flexibility and convenience for the student and family. Available for home-schooled and international students.
-I work with a range of abilities. Students can be struggling, confused, confident, enthusiastic, need help with perceptive responses (top of mark scheme).
-I offer bespoke intensive sessions during weekends for exam preparation.

About the lesson

During the first lesson, I will:
- review a piece of work/assessment together with student and/or parent
- assess the needs of the student – primary or secondary (please scroll down for details about my help for primary children, where reading and writing are key)
- provide feedback about needs.

For all students I help by:
- working with their current knowledge and level. I have worked with thousands of students. I have the experience and knowledge to know how to improve grades whatever a student’s current level is.
- listening to their experiences and any challenges and struggles with the subject.
- supporting SEN students with reading and writing.
- supporting and providing feedback to parents.

ONLINE TUITION

1-1 tutoring online. An example of how I may help a student is that I may assign a student is set extended writing tasks weekly, both formal essay writing and creative or transactional writing. Feedback is given on these pieces of extended writing during the session to help progress and to address any misconceptions or gaps in subject knowledge.

Bespoke teaching resources are planned for each student based on their individual needs with developing a particular skills or understanding key concepts linked to the units they are studying in school.

Flexible scheduling for UK & international students; ideal for home-schooled learners

Availability: Online & 1:1 GCSE & A-Level English tuition: flexible availability weekdays & weekends

Intensive revision & exam preparation slots: available for students taking GCSE English Language summer 2026 exams
