About Nikolas
As a graduate of FSU's film school, and now an Adjunct Instructor of an FSU graduate-level documentary class myself, I've learned so much about the art of storytelling. But as a high school English teacher, I've learned even more about the power of being a good reader and a mechanically-sound writer.
The best communicators are often born from the ability to read and write well, and then translate that to a verbal medium. Or, as the old saying goes, "Great leaders read, and great readers lead!"
Coming from someone who hated books in high school, I am beyond confident that even if you don't see yourself as a reader or writer whatsoever, you will be shocked at the growth you can undergo as you implement the simple disciplines of a reading and writing and—above all—joy-infused learning into life.

I teach as concisely but as detailedly as possible. There are helpful methods I've learned throughout my time in the classroom, but personalized attention and discovery of your personal writing and reading challenges are my hope in our time together.
If writing, that looks like reading your work, analyzing thesis statements, supporting points, and textual citation work. If reading, that often looks like reading texts together out loud and developing a plan to help you grow your reading on your own time as a discipline and a delight.
My lessons are primarily for high school students and undergraduates, but I am happy to try and help any level of learners!
