About Kelly

As an educator dedicated to fostering holistic development in literacy, my teaching philosophy revolves around inspiring confidence, establishing legitimacy, and reassuring students of my professionalism. My lessons are meticulously designed to be hands-on and problem-based, ensuring that students engage deeply with the material and develop practical skills. Through continuous assessment and personalized feedback, I aim to build each student’s confidence, encouraging them to take ownership of their learning journey.

My approach is rooted in the belief that every student has the potential to excel when provided with the right support and environment. By creating an atmosphere that is both challenging and nurturing, I help students build the self-assurance they need to tackle complex problems and develop a love for learning. My professional demeanor, coupled with a genuine passion for education, reassures students and parents alike of my commitment to their success.

My lessons are hands on and problem based learning. A typical lesson involves a pre assessment which can vary based on child's skills, interventions necessary to enhance the skill the student is confused about, then a post assessment at the end of each lesson to grasp what the child now understands. Even a little improvement is a big improvement! What sets me apart from other tutors is my adaptability and flexibility in regards to lessons. Since I am a current student teacher I am equipped with multiple techniques to constantly differentiate my teaching based on the students needs. My lessons are prepared for K-6.
