About Matthew

9 years of teaching in the US and in China. Educated at Harvard and UChicago. IB Examiner with AP teaching and test-prep experience. I care about the relationships that we can build together toward success--and I have seen my approach work countless times with students from elementary school up through adulthood. Collaboration, celebration, and hard work make it happen whether with a tough reading passage, preparing for an IB/AP exam, or crafting the perfect college essay for an Ivy. We can do it together!

About the lesson

I focus on building relationships with my students: I want to work together to figure out what success looks like and make our way toward it! I have worked with students from elementary school up through adulthood, and I celebrate every accomplishment. We will collaborate, using my nine years of international education training and Harvard & UChicago education to form an effective starting point. Reading, writing, listening speaking: college essay, comparative literary analysis, IB / AP / GRE Exam prep? I know how to get you where you want to be, so let's get started!

Perfect! Very knowledgeable and precise. Every line of my work was examined for my intended meaning, rather than how other tutors may subtly morph a text to what they prefer something to say. Also made me think about my writing in different ways
