My teaching technique is built around three things: engagement, context, and confidence.
I believe children learn language best when they're not aware they're learning- when they're playing, creating, solving, or expressing something that matters to them. So I don't lead with rules. I lead with experience, and let the rule emerge from it naturally.
For younger children, I use a lot of TPR- physical responses, actions, games- because the body remembers what the mind sometimes forgets. I use colour, rhythm, repetition, and storytelling to make language stick without pressure.
For older students, I shift toward making language relevant to their world- their opinions, their interests, real texts they actually encounter. I ask them to think critically, not just recall correctly. I treat them as intelligent people who are simply building a new skill, not filling an empty vessel.
