About Owen

Working with me, you are working with a professional and SAT expert in both reading and math. The average score increase of my private SAT students is 300 points—almost unheard of in the world of SAT prep. Over the last 10 years I have worked privately with 200+ students. After graduating from Cornell, I spent two years teaching at a top charter school in NYC where my classes ranked #1 by state test results across 14 schools.

I began tutoring shortly after scoring in the 99th percentile on the SAT in 2015. Since then, many of my students have scored in the 95th+ percentiles and earned admission into Ivy League schools such as Harvard, Columbia, Princeton and Cornell. Many more have earned scholarships at their target schools.

I see my role not only as a tutor but also as a coach invested in your child's success on the SAT. I work with both the parents and student to formulate a comprehensive game plan to tackling the exam.

About the lesson

Lessons consist of content review, testing strategy (specific to different question types on the SAT), and guided practice. I advocate for my students to focus on authentic SAT testing materials produced by the College Board and provide my students with an abundance of high quality official test materials.

Every student requires a different plan depending on where they are starting and their goal score. Having worked with over 200 students, I am able to effectively gauge where a student needs the most help and craft a comprehensive game plan. Students will be assigned work to complete between lessons including targeted drills, practice sections and content review.
