About Shental

I'm Shental, a law graduate from Jesus College, University of Oxford! Having tutored for several years in the past, I am eager to continue doing so virtually! I find tutoring incredibly rewarding to be able to help students who are in a position I was in previously, myself, and I love engaging with students and chatting! I also love being asked questions (and will ask you questions back!) - hallmark of a great tutor! ;)

About the lesson

A lesson will space an hour and will be conducted online. I have experience as a private tutor in English Literature in both GCSE and A Level across two years, and my students attained either As or A*s. In particular, one of my students achieved an A from achieving Ds in their essays previously. My approach to teaching involves asking my student lots of questions to facilitate engagement and working together to respond to questions. I usually attempt prompts at answers, and if this is unsuccessful, I will explain the concept again and revisit the question later on in the class, and potentially again in future classes in order to help my student's memory through repetitions and active recall - methods I have personally found very effective during my degree!
