About Julia
I am a second year Law Student at the University of Bristol, who sat her A-levels over a year ago. My favourite subject was always English, especially literature, which I ended up achieving an A* in. I believe I developed my skills considerably across sixth form and still use them even now during my course. I believe I can teach students these skills as well as providing them with top tips and very useful resources which helped me achieve my final grade. I have tutored previously, with good success rate, therefore, would like to carry this on, since I enjoy doing it and like seeing children be happy with their success.

My lessons are interactive, adaptable and well-suited to the student's needs.
My lessons last an hour, beginning with a starter task, either reviewing the previous lesson or a warm-up for the upcoming one. Here, any key issues or concerns can be flagged, allowing me and the student to understand what needs to be worked on.
The main part of the lesson would begin with me explaining the key concepts, whether this be phonetics, creative writing or analysis techniques of literature. I would then assign tasks to the students, which would be adapted to the individual student. This would include, for example, writing tasks, where we would then review together or analysis, critiquing texts.
The final part would be consolidating the learning we have done together with a final task as a cool down. Here, I would ask the student to point out three things they have learnt as well as three things that they would like to work on in the future; this would allow me to plan lessons.
Additionally, some tasks may be set to be completed in between the sessions as a way of consolidating the learning and making sure that they maintain the practice.
I have used this lesson plan previously during my tutoring sessions, with some students jumping three grades across the year.
The lessons range across many levels: KS1, KS2, KS3, GCSE and A-Level.
I can offer English Language up until GCSE and English Literature up to A-Level.
