About Tori
I’m Tori, a friendly and patient TEFL-qualified English tutor from South Africa. I’m passionate about helping people feel more confident when speaking and using English in their everyday lives.
I believe that learning a language doesn’t have to feel stressful or intimidating. My goal is to create a relaxed and welcoming space where you can learn at your own pace, ask questions freely and feel comfortable making mistakes. I enjoy getting to know my students and adapting my lessons to their personalities, interests and individual goals.
Whether you’re just starting your English journey, want to improve your conversation skills, need English for work or travel, or simply want to become more confident, I’m here to help!
Outside of teaching, I enjoy cooking, watching movies and learning about different cultures and people. I love having conversations and learning from others, which is something I bring into my lessons too.

I believe learning English should be practical, enjoyable and suited to each student’s individual needs. As a TEFL-qualified tutor, my approach is friendly, patient and student-centred. I focus on creating a comfortable environment where students feel confident making mistakes, asking questions and practising without feeling embarrassed.
My lessons are personalised according to your goals and learning level. We can focus on conversational English, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, listening or improving overall communication skills. I also enjoy using real-life topics, conversations and interactive activities to make lessons engaging and useful beyond the classroom.
I am proficient in English and teach English to beginner and intermediate learners. My lessons are particularly suited to students who want to improve their confidence in speaking English, expand their vocabulary or develop their everyday communication skills.
A typical lesson will include a short warm-up or conversation, followed by activities based on your specific goals. We will practise new vocabulary and language skills together, and I will provide gentle corrections and explanations when needed. Most importantly, you can expect a relaxed, supportive lesson where your progress and confidence are the priority.
Whether you are learning English for school, work, travel or everyday conversation, I will adapt my lessons to help you reach your personal goals.
