About Rachel

I am a university professor and have been teaching and tutoring English and Humanities for over 20 years. and have also taught and tutored at the grade school level and have had remarkable success with both demographic groups. At the college level, my teaching and tutoring experience includes both graduate and undergraduate students both on campus and online. According to 95 percent of my student evaluations, I am a brilliant and awe-inspiring teacher and tutor. Whether teaching or advanced courses, from English Fundamentals, Essay Writing or how to write Research Papers, to helping graduate students organize, write and copy-edit their Masters Theses and/or Dissertations, I guarantee improved learning outcomes.

About the lesson

I developed my teaching methodology while teaching Freshman English at Cornell University and tutoring at the Cornell Writing Center, where I taught and tutored for five years. Cornell’s English Department and writing programs and workshops are accredited by the Middle States Accreditation Body which ranked Cornell's Writing Program as one of the best in the entire country.

Over the years, I have honed my teaching and tutoring methods for both middle and high school students and at institutions of higher learning. I also established Writing Centers based on the methods I learned at Cornell. A primary focus of my teaching and tutoring methodology focuses on essay structure, specifically Introduction, Thesis Statement, and Outline; this knowledge is critical to good academic writing.
