About Geraldine

After 25 years of teaching and 17 years of examining, I found that one pattern is clear. Students are not held back by a lack of effort. They are limited by how they interpret exam questions and how they build their responses.

I’ve read thousands of exam scripts for both GCSE and A-level candidates and the same issues appear consistently:

– answers that drift from the question
– analysis that isn’t developed in a way that earns marks
– context that is included, but not meaningfully applied

My structured approach to tuition is built to address this.

It is a methodical, examiner-led approach that helps students:
- approach exam questions more confidently
– understand what is actually being rewarded
– apply linguistic analysis with precision
– construct responses that meet top-level criteria

My lessons and programmes of study are based on the patterns I've observed in my years of teaching. My methodical approach has resulted in C grade students coming to me in Feb/March and then achieving an A grade in their exams in May/June and securing their chosen university places. I also have had great success with my small group GCSE students gaining the higher grades and sometimes making 4+ grades of progress in a short space of time.
