About Alvin

My name is Alvin, and I am a dedicated and reliable tutor currently studying for an LLB Law degree. I take my role as a tutor seriously and aim to provide a professional, supportive, and well-structured learning experience for every student I work with. My academic background has given me a strong foundation in English, essay writing, critical thinking, and structured argument, all of which are essential skills across school subjects. Studying law has also strengthened my attention to detail, organisation, and ability to explain complex ideas clearly and logically. About the lesson

My name is Alvin, and my approach to tutoring is calm, structured, and student-focused. I believe students learn best when they clearly understand the basics before moving on to more complex ideas. I take time to explain concepts step by step, using examples and questions to check understanding rather than rushing through content. Lessons are tailored to each student’s level and goals. For English and writing, this may include reading practice, improving comprehension, developing clear written answers, or building essay structure and confidence. I encourage students to ask questions and actively take part, helping them become more independent learners over time. A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, though this can be adjusted if needed. I offer both one-to-one lessons, which allow for personalised support, and small group lessons, which help students learn through discussion and shared problem-solving. I am currently an LLB Law student, which has strengthened my skills in English, critical thinking, structured writing, and analysis. I also have experience supporting younger learners through school-based reading support and informal tutoring, where I developed patience, adaptability, and clear communication. My lessons are suitable for primary and GCSE-level students, particularly those who want to improve their English skills, academic writing, study habits, or overall confidence.
