About Alison

This is my 12th year teaching and I love working with students. My 6th graders consistently show more than a year's growth on end of year assessments. I have a master's degree in literacy. I understand how to scaffold lessons so that students feel successful and more motivated to practice. Reading and writing can be difficult but with a teacher that can understand and manage struggles, reading and writing can become a joyful experience.

About the lesson

These lessons are for middle school students with gaps in learning or students who just need steady practice. I provide a calm, safe and fun environment. A typical lesson will include word study, reading together, fluency practice, comprehension questions, and writing practice.
