About Judson

I enjoy music and love to see others develop and find the music they wish to create. Helping to see players and hear them bring their music up to and beyond a level they hoped for is very satisfying. I care that students have fun and stay positive about their musical dreams and goals.

About the lesson

I have a degree in Music Teaching and performance majoring in guitar, from SCU, 2012. Lessons are diverse depending on the strength of the students ability, interests and musical styles pursued. Lesson are from half to one hour, for beginners to serious students. I have been teaching privately from home and at homes for 28 years, and also developing online classes.

Perfect! Judson is an amazing instructor and musician. He has a deep understanding of music theory, technique and tone with an ability to convey that into easy to understand messages.

I am taking the guitar lessons to be able to jam with my kid who plays alto saxophone. We provided Judson with limited materials but Judson amazingly worked out the music arrangements that will allow us to play together. He also provided us additional materials such as backing track to help us practice well.

While we are practicing on the chords, he diligently slipped in music theories. I've been only on a few online lessons yet my knowledge and skill on the guitar has been steadily expanding.

Judson also always happy to provide assistance or answering question outside lesson, such as when I need to replace my guitar strings. He asked me to call him so he can speak to the music shop ensuring I got the right gauge and type. Truly recommended tutor!

If your looking for a guitar playing extraordinaire, Judson can teach you both academically & with his own uniquely devoloped teaching method. I've known Judson for 10 years and in this time I have had multiple, high quality musicians tell me they were in awe of his technique. His genre is predominantly jazz & blues on the guitar and Bach on the piano. He is a patient and methodical teacher, has been playing guitar since he was 12 years old, and teaching since 18 years old. You will also get a thorough understanding of music theory if you have Judson as your teacher. This kind of tutor is rare ! , and so I therefore highly recommend him.

Communication is key when teaching and Judson is clear and concise with what he says in a music lesson. Judson has the ability to explain ideas in many different ways, making him versatile with whoever he teaches. As a teacher he's opened my eyes to a lot of great new music material too.
