About Gabrielle
I am a dedicated, patient and caring tutor who enjoys helping young learners build confidence in their English skills. I have successfully completed my Matric certificate with a Bachelor’s pass and studying in university at this moment, which has given me a strong foundation in English, communication, reading, writing and comprehension.
I understand that every child learns differently, especially during the Foundation Phase. My approach is therefore patient, encouraging and supportive. I aim to create a comfortable learning environment where children feel confident to ask questions, make mistakes and learn at their own pace.
I offer support with English, spelling, proofreading and oral expression, helping learners improve their communication skills while developing a stronger understanding of the English language. I can assist learners with reading and written work, correct spelling and grammar mistakes, practise speaking and pronunciation and encourage them to express their thoughts clearly and confidently.
As a tutor, I am responsible, organised and committed to preparing carefully for each lesson. While I am continuing to build my professional tutoring experience, I am honest about my abilities and dedicated to giving each learner my full attention and support.
My goal is not only to help children improve academically, but also to make learning English enjoyable and help them develop confidence in their own abilities. I believe that with patience, encouragement and consistent practice, every child can make meaningful progress.

Patient, Encouraging & Fun English Lessons for Young Learners
I believe that learning should be a positive experience where children feel comfortable, supported and confident enough to ask questions and make mistakes. As a patient, kind, and understanding tutor, I create personalised lessons that are adapted to each child’s learning style, needs and pace.
I teach in English, specialising in Foundation Phase South African English, reading, oral expression, spelling, proofreading and homework support.
What makes my lessons special is my calm and encouraging teaching style. I understand that some children may need a little more time or a different explanation before something clicks. Instead of making them feel frustrated, I use visual examples, interactive activities, simple explanations, videos, slides, reading exercises and fun learning games to make difficult concepts easier to understand.
I also like to add a little humour and appropriate jokes to my lessons! I want children to feel relaxed and comfortable while learning, rather than feeling like they are simply sitting through another school lesson. I encourage participation, celebrate progress and help learners build confidence in their abilities.
What can you expect from a lesson?
Lessons are interactive, engaging, and personalised. We may work on reading aloud, pronunciation, spelling, vocabulary, oral expression, proofreading, comprehension or homework depending on the child's needs. I regularly check that the learner understands what we are doing before moving forward, and if something is difficult, I will patiently explain it in another way.
I have experience helping children with English and homework, and I genuinely enjoy seeing learners become more confident as they improve. My goal is to make every lesson productive while ensuring that the child feels encouraged, understood and proud of their progress.
My lessons are best suited to Foundation Phase learners who need extra support with English or who simply want to become more confident readers and communicators.
