About Nick
I am a produced writer (stage, screen, journalism) as well as an educator. My work has been seen on the stages of New York, including the renowned Off-Broadway theater, The Public. In addition, I spent nine years working as a teacher in the New York City Public School System, teaching English composition, theater and filmmaking to grades K-12.

Having trained at the Elisabeth Irwin/Little Red School House, New York's first progressive school (est. 1921), I am familiar with a variety of tools and tactics to help students maximize their potential. Whether you are seeking assistance on a tricky persuasive essay assignment, feedback on a college entrance essay, or interested in learning the craft of screenwriting or playwriting, I am able to offer technical guidance (grammar, structure/organization of thoughts) as well as creative instruction (word choice, tone, style). After an initial assessment, I tailor a lesson plan according to each student's specific needs. In addition to teaching the elements of composition, I employ games to stimulate a student's creativity. Writing, in all forms, is a balance of craft and creativity. By the end of our lessons, my students have a greater capacity to communicate their ideas through the written word.
