About Harriet
Hello, I'm Harriet, a TEFL qualified English (ESOL) Language teacher with over 20 years experience in education as a teacher and senior manager. I have taught in Colleges, Charities and online .
I am qualified to teach Business and General English and also Pronunciation. I have Masters degrees in both Psychology and Creative Writing which means I am skilled in both academic and expressive language.
I live in Hove in southeast England and also spend a lot of time in Lisbon, Portugal. I am trying to learn Portuguese and finding it tough!
I love meeting new people and finding out about them and what motivates them. I enjoy reading, eating out, drinking coffee, walking, exploring new places, TV and movies and talking to people. I look forward to meeting you and taking our first lesson together!

The lessons will be based on what you want and need to learn . Each lesson starts with discussing what you want to learn and why. We will then agree a plan of fun and challenging activities for the lessons to help you meet your goals.
The lessons will be lively and varied, using a range of methods, materials and contexts. We will regularly review your progress and goals and I will suggest activities outside of class to help you practice what you have learnt.
I am qualified to teach General and Business English and am happy teaching both. I can provide targeted feedback on written work and interview practice if needed. I have also recently trained to teach Pronunciation and accent reduction and can do this as part of each class.
I am able to teach beginners to advanced level students. Lessons can be 30 minutes to 1.5 hours long and will take place on Google Meets or Skype. My working hours are 9am to 7pm UK/Portugal time Monday to Thursday and 9am to 5pm on Fridays.
