About Karen

I am a qualified secondary English educator with eight years of experience tutoring students from Years 7–12. I recognize that every student brings a unique learning journey, with individual strengths, challenges and aspirations.

My approach to tutoring is personalized, supportive and goal-oriented. I work collaboratively with students to identify their learning needs, build their confidence and develop the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in English. Beyond improving academic performance, I aim to foster a deeper appreciation of English and a stronger understanding of the secondary English curriculum, empowering students to become confident, capable and independent learners.

About the lesson

I offer 1.5-hour personalised tutoring sessions tailored to each student’s individual learning needs and goals. My instruction focuses on textual analysis, essay writing, creative writing, assessment tasks and examination preparation.

Through detailed marking, assessment and constructive feedback, I support students in identifying their strengths, addressing areas for improvement and refining their analytical and writing skills. My approach aims to deepen students’ understanding of English, build their academic confidence and equip them with the skills necessary to achieve the learning outcomes of the Years 7–12 English curriculum.
