About Sophia

Hello! My name is Sophia, and I am a native English speaker from Pennsylvania, USA.

I have been tutoring English for the past three years, working with both children and adults from different language backgrounds. I also have one year of experience teaching online, helping students improve their speaking, pronunciation, vocabulary, and overall confidence in English.

In 2024, I moved abroad and have since lived and studied in different countries, which has given me firsthand experience learning languages and adapting to new cultures. I studied at university in Greece and am currently taking a gap year before beginning my studies in Speech and Language Therapy in Dublin.

As someone who is studying communication and language development, I am passionate about helping others express themselves clearly and confidently. I am patient, supportive, and committed to creating lessons that are engaging, encouraging, and tailored to each student's individual goals.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to help students become more confident and comfortable using English in real-life situations. I focus on speaking, listening, pronunciation, vocabulary, and natural conversation rather than memorizing long grammar rules.

Each lesson is adapted to the student's goals, interests, and level. A typical lesson may include conversation practice, pronunciation exercises, vocabulary building, discussion questions, role-plays, and feedback on common mistakes. I create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

I have three years of tutoring experience working with both children and adults, as well as one year of online teaching experience. As a Speech and Language Therapy student, I am especially interested in communication, language development, and helping learners improve their confidence when speaking.

My lessons are suitable for beginners through intermediate and advanced learners, whether you are learning English for school, work, travel, exams, or everyday communication.
