About Elise Elli Elisabeth
Hi! I’m Miss Elise, an English tutor who supports children in building confidence with reading, writing, and everyday communication.
I use multi-sensory, child-centered teaching methods that help learning stick—especially for children who are learning English, are neurodivergent, or benefit from repetition and rhythm.
One method I use often is singing storybooks or reading text rhythmically.
Melody and rhythm help children remember language naturally. Many children begin to recognize written words because they can sing the story to themselves and connect the sounds with the printed text.
I also use:
repetition without pressure
visual cues and pointing to words while reading
short, focused activities with movement or breaks
gentle correction and positive reinforcement
My teaching style is patient, calm, and adaptive. I follow the child’s pace and interests while keeping lessons structured enough to build real literacy skills.
Above all, I aim to help children feel safe, capable, and proud of their progress.

My Teaching Style
I believe learning works best when children feel:

unhurried
encouraged rather than corrected
Lessons are structured but gentle. I adapt to each child’s pace and often use multi-sensory strategies, like singing storybooks or reading rhythmically, which helps children remember language naturally and connect words with sounds.
There is no pressure and no one-size-fits-all approach.

First Lesson
The first lesson is about getting comfortable.
We’ll do a short reading or language activity, identify your child’s needs, and set a simple, supportive plan for future lessons.
I’ll also check in with parents about goals and supports that help your child learn best.
