About Rolando

Hi! I’m Rolando, a trilingual professional who loves connecting with people, sharing knowledge & helping others grow.

I’ve had the opportunity to live in several countries, including Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica & the United States. Growing up in different cultures taught me how to adapt, communicate with people from all backgrounds & appreciate different ways of thinking. I’m fluent in Spanish, Portuguese & English, and I know firsthand both the challenges & rewards of learning a new language.

I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and have over 8 years of professional experience across sales, marketing, technology & professional sports. I currently work full-time as a Digital Advertising Consultant, where I help businesses develop strategies, solve challenges & achieve their goals. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with major global brands, collaborated with international teams & developed strong communication, leadership & problem-solving skills.

Sports have also been a big part of my life. I played competitive soccer for many years and had the opportunity to coach young players through Sporting Kansas City. Coaching taught me how rewarding it is to help someone develop their skills, build confidence & accomplish something they once thought was difficult.

Although I work full-time, teaching & mentoring are things I genuinely enjoy doing on the side. I love meeting new people, learning about their goals & sharing experiences that might help them succeed. Whether it’s improving a language, developing soccer skills or preparing for a professional opportunity, I bring patience, enthusiasm & a positive attitude to every interaction.

Outside of work, I enjoy soccer, traveling, exploring different cultures & volunteering with community organizations. Giving back has always been important to me, and tutoring is another meaningful way to make a positive impact.

I consider myself approachable, organized, dependable & genuinely invested in helping others succeed. My goal is not only to share what I know but also to make every student feel supported, encouraged & confident in their abilities.

My Teaching Approach

Everyone learns differently, so I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I start by understanding your goals, current experience & the areas where you’d like to improve. From there, I create lessons that combine clear explanations, real-world examples & hands-on practice.

I’m patient, encouraging & believe that making mistakes is an important part of learning. I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, trying new things & building confidence at your own pace.

What You Can Expect From a Lesson

Each session is structured around your individual needs while keeping things interactive & enjoyable.

We typically begin with a quick conversation about your goals or a review of what we’ve previously covered. Then, we focus on developing specific skills through guided exercises, practical activities & personalized feedback. Before finishing, we’ll review your progress & discuss what to work on next.

Depending on what you’re interested in, I offer:

* English, Portuguese & Spanish: Conversational fluency, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing & professional communication. I emphasize real-life situations so you can confidently use what you learn outside the classroom.
* Soccer: Personalized training focused on ball control, passing, shooting, positioning, coordination & game awareness. Sessions are adapted to your skill level, with an emphasis on improvement while having fun.
* Driving & Driver’s Education: Traffic rules, road safety, driving fundamentals & preparation for written knowledge tests, with practical instruction where legally permitted.
* Resume & Career Preparation: Resume writing, interview preparation, professional communication & practical advice to help you present your strengths and feel more confident pursuing opportunities.

What Makes My Lessons Different

I want you to understand not just what you’re learning, but how to apply it in everyday life. Rather than relying on memorization or repetitive exercises, I focus on building practical skills that you can continue using long after our lessons.

I also believe learning should be a collaborative experience. I welcome feedback, adjust the pace when needed & encourage students to take an active role in their progress. No unnecessary pressure, no judgment, just a supportive environment where you can improve.
