About Jillian
I am a second-year student at the University of St Andrews. I am from the eastern U.S., and I have a passion for assisting others on their journey to academic success. I know what it feels like to struggle in certain subjects in school, and I am on a mission to use my skills in English and Reading to help others combat this feeling.
I am also an avid reader and skilled written communicator, and I'm passionate about the topics of English and Reading.

I use a comprehensive tutoring approach to my lessons, starting with an assessment to see where the student currently is and what areas we should work on. We will continuously work on the areas that the student finds difficult until their confidence increases and they feel good about their progress. Feedback is crucial to lessons, so I will consistently check in with the student to see how they feel lessons are going and what we should adjust.
Typical lessons range from 45 to 75 minutes; the length is to be decided by the student.
I am a strong English and Reading student, and was consistently top of my class in both subjects before attending university. I received a 35 out of 36 on the English section of the American ACT, and it is my goal to increase others' confidence and success in these areas.
My lessons are for students ranging from 7 to 17 years. I can meet any student in this age range where they are, covering anything from introductory to more advanced topics.
