About Shelby

Working professional with over six years of experience in copy editing, resume assistance, proofreading, and writing consultation.

I have a Master's in Public Health from Columbia University and a Bachelor in Arts in Sociology and Professional Writing.

Copy Editor for the novel "Stumped" by K.A. Shows

In my free time, I enjoy walking my dog, reading, and roller skating.

About the lesson

I am a patient teacher who is passionate about grammar and rhetoric.

Each lesson begins with a review of the assignment, job application, or prompt to identify the assignment goals and the methods needed to accomplish these objectives.

We will then work together to create an outline with specific targets, so the student can comfortably begin the writing process.

If the student comes prepared with a draft, we will review the draft for content and grammar. During review, I make a point of explaining the rules and concepts behind the changes to enhance the learning process.

Shelby was a thoughtful and considerate tutor who really took the time to provide a full edit of my graduate school personal statement. She provided numerous grammar and spelling corrections and offered alternative ways to convey information to improve overall flow of the letter.
