About Chiamaka

With over 6 years of dedicated experience in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stages 1 & 2, I am a passionate and qualified educator with a deep understanding of child development and early learning.
I hold a strong background in early literacy, phonics, and primary education, and I have spent the last six years in practical classroom settings creating nurturing, inclusive, and hands-on learning environments where every child thrives.
My teaching is grounded in the UK EYFS framework and child-centered pedagogy. I combine structured learning with play, using proven methods such as Jolly Phonics, synthetic phonics, and the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract approach for early math to ensure children not only learn, but truly understand and retain.
Parents trust me because I am patient, consistent, and results-driven. I take time to understand each child's unique learning style, pace, and personality, and I tailor every lesson to build both academic skills and self-confidence.

About the lesson

My Approach to Tutoring:
I Chiamaka believe children learn best by doing. My approach is child-centered, play-based, and hands-on - rooted in the UK EYFS framework and child development principles.

My Techniques & Teaching Methodology:
Phonics First: I use Jolly Phonics / Synthetic Phonics with songs, actions, and stories for early readers.
Play-Based Learning: Every lesson includes games, visuals, puppets, and real objects to make abstract concepts concrete.
Scaffolded Learning: I break down tasks into small steps (C-P-A approach for Math) and build confidence before moving on.
Positive Reinforcement: Lots of praise, stickers, and gentle correction to keep learners motivated.

Typical Length of a Lesson:
Ages 3-5: 25-30 minutes (short, highly engaging)
Ages 6-8 (KS1/KS2): 45-60 minutes with brain breaks and activities.

My Qualifications / Experience:
Experienced educator with 6+ years in EYFS and Key Stages 1 & 2, strong background in child development, early literacy, and primary education. Over 6 years of practical classroom experience creating hands-on, inclusive lessons for diverse learners.
