About Giovanni
Born in 1994, Giovanni Cattaneo approaches the study of drums at the age of 11 through the guidance of Luca Campioni.
At the age of 16 he moved to the United States for 6 months, where he was able to deal with the tradition of the instrument, with the study of the snare drum and perform with the Marching Bands.
Upon his return, he continues his study with Enrico Santangelo and Alex Battini de Barreiro. In this phase, he has the opportunity to perform with some personal projects and as a session player in existing formations, including the indie-shoegaze band Excusers.
He then decides to enroll in the Bachelor of Music course at the Centro Professione Musica in Milan; here he has the opportunity to study and improve with some of the best drummers in Italy, including: Roberto Gualdi, Giovanni Giorgi and Flaviano Cuffari. In this phase he performs with Wrongonyou and in various internal events at the academy.
Parallel to the full time path of CPM he continues the study of the instrument with Federico Paulovich.
Great lover of didactics, he attends various masterclasses and seminars, where he has the opportunity to interact with drummers of the caliber of Jojo Mayer, Mark Guiliana, Gavin Harrison, Thomas Lang, Daniele Chiantese and many others.
From 2021 he is the official drummer of Diego Naska and Simone Panetti with whom he played in the "Single Event Tour" and in the subsequent tours of the two artists.
He also continues the collaboration with Cecilia Stallone in the soul / r'n'b field.
Others, among the various collaborations, are the bands "Mistakes", "False Memories" and "Semi d'Ortica".

The path that I try to develop revolves entirely around the needs of the student.
A first meeting provides me and the person in front of me with the possibility of defining a path that may be suitable for developing the skills required to pursue objectives in an efficient and fun way.
The path that will follow will take into account both the interests expressed by the student in stylistic terms, and the development of all the technical skills aimed at allowing us to play at our best.
Typically, within a typical lesson, topics such as reading, the technique of the hands and feet, the execution and analysis of pieces, phrasing, sound, history and tradition of the instrument are dealt with.
