About Michael A
I bring a strong background in swimming, including experience as a collegiate swimmer, YMCA lifeguard, and swimming director and instructor at Kaneohe Yacht Club. I hold current certifications as a Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard, along with CPR and First Aid for adults, children, and infants through the Red Cross.
With years of experience teaching swimmers of all ages and skill levels, I specialize in guiding proper breathing techniques, stroke mechanics, and water safety through personalized lessons. Whether you’re a beginner working to overcome fear or develop basic skills, or an intermediate swimmer aiming to enhance your technique for lifelong fitness, we progress at your pace. You’ll see results from the very first lesson, and references are available upon request.

Swimming is hands-down one of the best exercises! In a single session, you can relieve stress, burn calories, improve cardiovascular health, and build strength and flexibility.
In private or semi-private lessons, we’ll focus on mastering proper breathing techniques and fundamental strokes until you—or your child—feel confident and coordinated in the water.

I am a fit, compassionate female swim instructor offering personalized lessons tailored to your pace or your child’s. With a calm, encouraging approach, I help both children and adults feel comfortable in the water. Over the past 15 years, I’ve taught one-on-one and group classes to swimmers of all ages and abilities, helping them reach their aquatic and fitness goals.
