About Rubén
I graduated in Classical Music Performance at the Conservatorio Superior de Valencia in 2024 and am currently continuing my studies in Pedagogy there, while also pursuing a Master’s in Music Research at VIU.
I balance this with teaching, performing in various bands and orchestras, and being part of ensembles that are somewhat outside the realm of classical music (such as Latin American folk music, for example!). Although my training has been primarily in classical music, I also enjoy contemporary music and jazz. While I have less experience in these genres, I always try to incorporate them into my lessons to offer broader perspectives.
I have experience with beginners who are completely new to music, such as young children, but I also work with intermediate and advanced conservatory students, as well as adults who want to enjoy learning to play an instrument.

Hello! I'm Rubén, a graduate in ClassicalMusic Performance at the Conservatorio Superior de Valencia. I offer tailored lessons in analysis, harmony and music theory, customized to each student’s level and needs. You decide where you want to go.
If you're looking to learn how to read sheet music so you can play an instrument, I'll teach you the basics needed to enjoy it as soon as possible. Rhythms, notes, time signatures, key signatures— we’ll keep it simple and put it into practice with exercises in rhythm and singing. Ear training exercises will also be included, so you can play or write what you hear.
If you need a little boost to pass music theory, harmony, or analysis lessons at the conservatory, we’ll focus on your weak points to build your confidence. Practice is key: after a brief introduction or review of the theory, we’ll dive into exercises. We’ll work on the materials you use in class and expand with additional resources as needed. Complex time signatures, augmented sixth chords, and bar form won’t intimidate you anymore.
And if you need support in preparing for entrance exams to elementary, professional, or advanced conservatory programs, I can help you achieve your goals. We’ll review the content required and tackle each area until you’ve mastered it all. Once again, practical exercises will be the foundation of our lessons.

Rubén es un gran profesor por su amplio conocimiento en diferentes ramas de la teoría musical, su proximidad y afán por no dejar de aprender.
Además de ser un musicazo y muy buena persona.Rubén es una persona muy profesional y trabajadora y siempre se muestra muy comprometido con sus alumnos y su aprendizaje. Tiene una sólida base en los fundamentos de la música, tanto en teoría básica como en asignaturas más complejas como son historia de la música.
