About John

I have taught Design and Technology in secondary schools as a full-time and supply teacher focussing on the AQA and Edexcel syllabuses. I have also had experience as a 1-to-1 tutor and particularly enjoy developing and nurturing individuals' own skills, interests and knowledge base. I have a background working in the commercial world as a designer, artworker and illustrator so have a real-world insight into industrial practice.

John is a very knowledgeable, friendly and patient private tutor and I really enjoyed and thrived in my studies during the many sessions we had. He guided and helped me achieve a grade A at A-level in both Product Design and Photography. Always encouraging to work with and has a great attention to detail. Helped me thoroughly understand specific assignments, the best private tutoring I’ve ever had.

John was a truly fantastic, patient, and kind tutor who helped me achieve a grade 9 (A*) in my GCSE Design and Technology course. He supported me in fine-tuning my final portfolio, helped me review content for my theoretical and written exams and explore different ideas for my projects over the course, which ranged from graphic design, resistant materials, and textiles. I would recommend him immediately to any young person looking for support in their Design Technology GCSE or A-level courses. His enthusiasm and attention to detail helped keep me excited about the course, even when I was bombarded with ten other GCSE courses .

Thank you so much, John. I couldn't have done it without you!

John is an extremely calm, patient and encouraging tutor. He helped me to master the technical aspects of photography and photo editing, and supported and encouraged my creative development as a photographer. I have since had a solo photography exhibition and my work has been featured in a magazine.
